ASDI-500 is a stationary fully automated diamond verification instrument, designed to screen large quantities of colourless and near colourless loose stones at a high speed. ASDI-500 uses a robotic arm to automatically separate diamonds from synthetic diamonds and diamonds simulants and is capable of handling stones down to 0.5mm in diameter.

The user loads a parcel of loose polished stones into the ASDI-500. The parcel must have a size range tolerance of +/- 0.05mm. ASDI-500 dispenses the stones into four categories:
‘Refer’ could contain potential synthetic diamonds and diamonds. The referrals should be tested further for full verification.
Prior to starting an inspection, the ASDI-500 runs an automated internal calibration on a reference diamond included in the device. The calibration takes less than one minute. Following inspection, the ASDI-500 can export an inspection result file.
