5 Designers To Know Making Their Couture Debut
Couture, the jewelry industry’s most exceptional curation of designer fine jewelry, is just around the corner. Taking place this June in Las Vegas, designers around the world will gather to show off new collections and design ingenuity.
For many designers, 2023 is the first time they will be attending, debuting their pieces for the first time on the Couture show floor. We spoke to some of these first-timers to get a sneak peek at their hero pieces and learn from them what they’re most excited about at the show.
Below, get to know Nada Ghazal, Jamie Books of Mason and Books, Jessica Olds of Future Fortune, Jade Ruzzo, and Kelia and Kelly of Rainbow K.
Mason and Books
New York-based founder Jamie Books has spent 15 years designing luxury accessories, but her entire life as a jewelry lover. “I’m so excited for retailers and fellow jewelry experts to see my new collection in person,” she exclusively shares with OND. “The support I’ve received means so much to me. I’m looking forward to embracing everyone and soaking in the experience that is my first Couture.”
Future Fortune
Founder and designer Jessica Olds has spent 17 years designing for various high profile brands and clients and decided to branch out on her own in 2020 with Future Fortune. “I’m beyond thrilled to be part of Couture! There is so much to look forward to at the show this year and I’m excited to showcase my new designs and latest creations and meet many of the industry leaders, buyers, and enthusiasts from around the world,” she says. “Overall, I am looking forward to celebrating the artistry, creativity, and beauty of fine jewelry.”
Jade Ruzzo
Having originally worked in media, founder and designer Jade Ruzzo made the switch to jewelry design and never looked back. “I’m so excited to take it all in, connect with retailer partners and see the amazing work of so many talented designers in person,” she says of being a first-timer at Couture. “I’m particularly excited to launch my new Percussion collection, one that’s very special to me. The collection explores the principles of percussion instruments and their key role in any musical composition – strong, steady, timeless and vital. Diamonds naturally lend themselves to this concept and I had so much fun working with the stone to anchor the collection.”
Rainbow K
Parisian jewelry lovers Kelly and Kelia combined their love of antique pieces and traditional high jewelry to create their line, Rainbow K. “It is our first time exhibiting at Couture and we are excited to see all the incredible brands showing, meeting new designers, as well as the buyers, and press we have been working with yet not met in person,” say Kelly and Kelia. “We greatly look forward to being part of the Couture industry community!”
Nada Ghazal
The Lebanese designer is back at Couture after over 10 years away, making it her debut in this decade. “I thrive on connecting with like-minded people and sharing my story through my jewelry, therefore, I am very excited to do so with retailers and jewelry lovers at Couture,” she exclusively tells OND. “Couture is a lot about connecting with the jewelry industry and especially our partners. It’s also very exciting for me on a personal level as it always fills my heart to share our latest collection and our latest story, specifically as our latest collection is all about blessings and opportunities, something that we all need.”
