The intimate setting was the perfect backdrop for a new high jewelry collection. As champagne flowed and natural diamonds sparkled, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Vera Wang to discuss the inspiration behind her debut collection for Jared Atelier.
“This collaboration gave me the opportunity to create jewelry that felt really personal,” she tells Only Natural Diamonds. “I am also a collector of fine jewelry and own pieces from some of the world’s great jewelers, so I truly love jewelry, and this allowed me to make pieces that fit the casual way I like to style myself.”
When asked what makes jewelry so special, she says, “It is for me mysterious, sexy, romantic. There are tales that can be told about jewelry; there is a truly magical quality to it.”
Since its inception in 2022, Jared Atelier, the high jewelry arm of Jared, has partnered with renowned designers to create one-of-a-kind, artful collections. The collection features 14 meticulously crafted pieces in 18k white gold, ranging from $12,500 to $125,000. True to Jared Atelier’s vision, each piece is a masterpiece, and combined, they boast more than 150 carats of natural diamonds. “I don’t know anyone, guy or gal, who doesn’t like natural diamonds. If they say they don’t, they are kidding themself,” Wang says with a laugh. “With this collaboration, I was able to take natural diamonds and design them in a context that was very me and how I like to wear them.”

Wang’s inaugural designs bring her signature style of modern minimalism to life with three distinctive motifs: Diamond Strings, Ribbons, and Serpents. The diamond string designs capture fluidity and movement, embodying a casual elegance that feels effortless and wearable. They evoke a seductive, contemporary allure that aligns with Wang’s reputation for redefining sophistication. The ribbons are feminine and romantic, and these designs reflect Wang’s hallmark aesthetic. Delicate bows symbolize grace and refined simplicity, echoing her iconic bridal designs. Lastly, the serpents celebrate transformation, rebirth, and wisdom. Drawing from Chinese culture, where the serpent is a symbol of good fortune and health, Wang masterfully weaves cultural storytelling into her designs.
“This collection reflects a highly personal composition of design elements, both architectural and organic,” Wang shares. “I wanted to create pieces that are relevant and effortless, no matter the occasion.”
