What Is Cynthia Erivo’s New Ring?

Cynthia Erivo always makes sure her hands are decked out, sparkling with custom manicures, gemstones, and natural diamonds. But what is Cynthia Erivo’s new ring? Worn at the 2025 Grammy Awards, eagle-eyed fans spotted the stunner from a mile away and ran to social media with their theories. While the Wicked star and Oscar-nominated actress always wears many diamond rings, this one feels special.

Erivo arrived at the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet in a custom Louis Vuitton dress and diamond jewels from Messika, styled by her longtime collaborator Jason Bolden. From her manicure to the stacks of rings on her fingers and bracelets on her wrists, Erivo is always dripping, and the Grammys were no exception.

On her right hand, Erivo wore a natural diamond ring and a diamond cuff-style bracelet. On her left, she wore another Messika bracelet AND two sizable natural diamond rings, including an eternity band and a cushion-cut solitaire, both on her ring finger. So what is Cynthia Erivo’s new ring? We may have some answers.

One natural diamond ring on her left finger is a round brilliant eternity band, a style usually used as a wedding band. It pairs perfectly with another new ring that looks suspiciously like a traditional engagement ring. It looks to be a cushion-cut solitaire, weighing around 5 to 6 carats set on a twisted platinum band.

Erivo has been linked to her partner Lena Waithe since 2022, appearing at events together but rarely posing with each other on red carpets. But, Waithe attended the Grammy’s to support her partner and was spotted in the audience alongside Erivo at the Grammys. The pair are very private and might not publicly confirm an engagement or marriage but all signs are pointing to, “I do!”

During her Wicked press tour last month, Erivo wore a different ring from The Moonstoned, described as an engagement ring from the jeweler. However, it was not confirmed that the ring is specifically Erivo’s engagement ring – but it sure looked like it! While the ring she wore to the Grammy Awards is a different style, it looks even more like an engagement ring, especially paired with an eternity band. Paired together, marriage is an easy conclusion to make.

This other engagement ring spotted on the Wicked press tour is a vintage Ballerina-style natural diamond ring from the 1950s. It features two layers of cascading tapered baguettes surrounding a brilliant-cut center stone. The vintage-glam design certainly fits with Cynthia’s eclectic and stylish aesthetic.

This isn’t the first time Cynthia has decked out her digits—and more!—in natural diamonds. At the 2024 Tony Awards, she wore multiple diamond rings from Tiffany & Co. along with the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Leaves necklace in platinum. At the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked, she wore an impressive natural diamond collar from Roberto Coin’s high jewelry collection with rings from Suzanne Kalan and The Moonstoned. At another press stop in Paris for Wicked during the Olympics, she wore Louis Vuitton rings and gold cuffs with her green ensemble.
