Calling all jewelry and watch enthusiasts! Van Cleef & Arpels are hosting an immersive experience in sunny Costa Mesa California for the second time this October. This immersive installation, Poetry of Time, is set in the South Coast Plaza in the Jewel Court, where the Maison has curated a selection of new natural diamond and gemstone watches on display.

The installation as well as the watches on display are a reflection of the Maison’s main inspirations: Nature and Astronomy. Guests are invited to enjoy a magical evening in the forest, where they can explore an artistic wonderland filled with beautiful lacquered panels, stunning light displays, and exquisite glass leaves crafted by Matteo Gonet in Basel and the Salviati workshop in Murano.

“Craftsmanship and poetic innovation are at the heart of every initiative at Van Cleef & Arpels,” says president and CEO of Van Cleef and Arpels Americas, Helen King, in a press release. Additionally, the experience divulges the Maison’s unique vision of time. The centerpieces of the exhibition are the recently revealed Brise d’Été, Lady Arpels Jour Nuit, and Lady Jour Nuit timepieces. The Poetic Complications, Jewelry Watches and Extraordinary Dials will also be on display. “This Poetry of Time installation highlights the dimension of dreams and emotion that the Maison instills into the art of watchmaking,” says King. “We are thrilled to share this experience with our clients and the public once again at South Coast Plaza.”

The Brise d’Été features natural diamonds, tsavorite garnets, spessartite garnets, and white mother-of-pearl set in 18K white gold. An ode to nature, this timepiece emulates the morning freshness of a warm summer day and an invitation to wander into the Van Cleef & Arpels garden. Crafted in Geneva, this dial combines different techniques mastered by the Maison including enameling, miniature painting, stone setting, engraving, and sculpting.

The Lady Arpels Heures Florales and Lady Arpels Heures Florales Cerisier timepieces are another tribute to nature. The Maison has drawn inspiration specifically from the floral clock concept, developed by Swedish Botanist Carl Von Linné. These watches feature a three-dimensional dial that opens and closes 12 vibrant corollas every 60 minutes. Each watch is made of natural diamonds, yellow, white, and rose gold, in addition to pink sapphires and white mother-of-pearl.

Inspired by Astronomy and first introduced in 2008, the Jour Nuit depicts a full 24-hour cycle with the moon and sun. As the day turns to night, the hand moves through the sun and the moon, repeating itself. The Jour Nuit and the Lady Jour Nuit feature natural diamonds, mother-of-pearl, and are set in 18K white and yellow gold.

The newly renovated South Coast Plaza Van Cleef & Arpels boutique will also be home to the Extraordinary Object Apparition des Baies for the duration of the pop-up for its debut in the United States.

The installation will be running from October 11th until October 27th.
